Areial Bunched Cables

(PE/XLPE Insulated)

Aerial bunched cables or simply ABC are overhead power lines using several insulated phase conductors bundled tightly together, usually with a bare neutral conductor.

This contrasts with the traditional practice of using uninsulated conductors separated by air gaps. This variation of bundled conductors utilizes the same principles as overhead power lines, except that they are closer together to the point of touching but each conductor is surrounded by an insulating layer (except for the neutral line).

Cross-Linked polyethylene is used for insulation of the conductor and is applied by extrusion. Hence, the insulation provided fits the conductor very well and it is easily removable without damaging it. The enhanced UV protection is ensured by providing black colour to insulation wire. The working voltage of Aerial Bunched cable wire is up to and including 1100 volts. National and International specifications are taken care of when producing Aerial Bunched Cables and they are also modified as per customer's requirement.

The phase conductor and lightning conductors are neutral and are available in H2 or H4 grade. The aluminium used in the wire production complies successfully with all standard requirements and conforms to the flexibility class 2. The wire consists of a minimum of 7 Strands with a smooth surface for better performance. Numerous ridges are provided to the phase conductors and if the cable has an outer neutral insulated conductor, if available, has four ridges. It is so to identify them easily.

Power/Control Cable

XLPE insulated power and control cables are enriched polymers of thermoset types and they consist of cross-linking agents.

The conductor of this compound is extruded efficiently using modern extruders and are then appropriately linked using cross-linking techniques under controlled situations. XLPE insulation is useful to efficiently overcome the drawbacks of PVC insulated cables. XLPE insulated power cables hitherto be used popularly as an insulating agent. They do not lose the properties of XLPE insulating wires and all are contained effectively.

Pure aluminium of high-grade electrolytic is used to manufacture conductors and they meet the standards of IS 8130/1984. These wires are given either compact circular or compact sector shapes. Moreover, on special requests, copper cable conductors are also offered for special purposes.

XLPE cables are manufactured specifically using high-grade dielectric polyethene that is cross-linked as well for insulation. The wires are applied using extrusion procedures.

Multicore cables are manufactured lading numerous cores one above the other according to several colour schemes manufactured in these cables. These cores are bedded with thermoplastic material to provide complete security and protect against mechanical damage.
